To all of those who had faith in me when I had none in myself;
To those who threw me a lifeline when I was sinking deep;
To those who lifted me to my feet when I kept falling down;

I thank you.

To those who left me all on my own just when I needed them most;
To those who made me fend for myself in my darkest hour;
To those who called me a failure when illness slowed my feet;

I thank you.

For without the efforts of those who cared I would not have survived.
And if those who ran away had stayed I could not have grown.
So to those who cared, and those who did not,
I thank you from the depths of my heart.

I am living my real life now, not as someone else would choose.
Expressing the feelings of my heart to people who choose to listen.
