Another sleepless night, just like the one before.
Nothing moves; not a sound; I just cannot close my eyes.
I stare at the ceiling; my mind just racing on and on.
Another long, sleepless night.

I know I need to rest, I tell my mind to stop.
It's no use; waste of time; cannot stop the rushing flow.
I focus on breathing, but cannot block the thoughts that come.
The anger comes; the night will go.

Another day, I might have washed the night away
With pills, and I cannot say just why not now.
There must be more to life; that's what I'm searching for;
Can't find it. I must do more, get there somehow.

I see the dawn approach. The sky is lighter now.
Heavy eyes, deeper sighs, but the sleep still will not come.
Head down to the kitchen, I might as well put coffee on.
Another long, sleepless night.
